When creating your Spiko account, you will need to scan an official identity document with your phone to verify your identity.
Accepted documents
- Passport
- National identity card, front and back
- Residence permit issued in France (carte de séjour temporaire or carte de résident), front and back. Residence permits issued by other countries are not accepted.
Requirements
- The document must be valid (not expired).
- Photos must be clear and legible, without glare or cropping.
- The document must be complete (all information visible).
- Laminated or photocopied documents are not accepted.
- Driving licences and screenshots of a document shown on a screen are not accepted.
Accepted documents by country
The details below depend on the country that issued your identity document. For a document issued by another country, the general rules above apply.
🇫🇷 France
- Passport
- French national identity card (carte nationale d'identité, CNI), front and back. Adult CNIs issued between 2004 and 2013 remain valid for 5 years beyond the printed date.
- Residence permit issued in France (carte de séjour temporaire or carte de résident), front and back
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Only passports are accepted, as the UK has no national identity card.
🇪🇸 Spain
- Passport
- Spanish national identity card (DNI), front and back
🇳🇱 Netherlands
- Passport
- Dutch identity card, front and back
🇮🇹 Italy
- Passport
- Italian electronic identity card (Carta d'identità elettronica, CIE), front and back
Paper identity cards are no longer valid since 3 August 2026, even if the printed date is later.
🇩🇪 Germany
- Passport
- German identity card (Personalausweis), front and back
The address printed on the back of the German identity card (Personalausweis) does not count as proof of address. See this article for the list of accepted proofs of address.
